George Tappenden

About George

George was only 14 months old when his and his families world changed forever. 14 months? What can you achieve in 14 months of your young life? Not enough thats for sure. So how deverstating would it be to find out that your 14 month old son has SMA Type 2? That is what this family have to live with now. George won't be able to stand, walk or even lift a cup in his life, he has already started to lost the ability to crawl and even sit! But one thing George can still do very well is smile. That beaming grin will lighten up any day.

We are fundraising to try and get George a very special wheelchair called 'Snap Dragon Chair' this will allow George to sit and play with his toys, to reach his toys, and it can even aid him so he can stand for a short space of time! However this amazing chair that will make life so much better and easier for the youngster comes at a cost, a big £21,000 but not only that, other equipment like toys that George will need throughout his life.

If you would like to help George make his life easier then please visit: http://www.justgiving.com/george-tappenden and donate what you can.

SMA Stands for Spinal muscular atrophy which is a muscle wasting disease. Find out more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spinal_muscular_atrophy
